Identities of eight women arrested during December protests in Sabzevar confirmed

At least eight women arrested by Iranian government forces during the December protests in Sabzevar, Razavi Khorasan Province, have now been identified. They remain in detention with no clear information available about their legal status or fate.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the detainees have been identified as Mahdieh Yousefi, Samira Shokouhi Nasab, Aida Ataei, Tina Fereshteh, Bahar Sajjadi, Vida Azadavari, Nahid Barzoui, and Mandana Motahari. All were arrested during the course of the January 2026 protest crackdown in Sabzevar and have remained in custody for more than one month.
Among them, Samira Shokouhi Nasab is a pedologist, and Vida Azadavari works as an accountant. Tina Fereshteh is reported to be 18 years old.
Samira Shokouhi Nasab, Aida Ataei, and Bahar Sajjadi have been transferred to Sabzevar Central Prison.
No precise information has been released regarding the charges against these women, their exact places of detention in other cases, or the status of their legal proceedings.
