Iranian authorities arrest young woman Sheyda Sheikhi in Saqqez

Sheyda Sheikhi, a 25-year-old Kurdish woman from Saqqez, was arrested by Iranian authorities amid the continuing wave of arrests targeting Kurdish people in the city. Her whereabouts and fate remain unknown.
Based on information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, intelligence forces raided her family home in the Shanaz neighborhood of Saqqez on the evening of Saturday, April 4, 2026, and arrested her.
According to an informed source, the raid took place at around 23:00 and was carried out without a warrant. During the raid, Iranian authorities searched the house and confiscated her personal belongings, including a laptop and a mobile phone.
The reasons for her arrest, the charges against her, and her place of detention remain unknown. Efforts by her family to obtain information about her situation have so far yielded no results.
