Hengaw – Monday, April 27, 2026
Jafar Fakhrabadi, a prisoner previously sentenced to death on charges of "premeditated murder", was executed at Yazd Central Prison.
Information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights indicates that the execution of Fakhrabadi, a 52-year-old resident of Yazd, was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, inside Yazd Central Prison.
Iran Human Rights reported that Fakhrabadi was the father of three children. He had been arrested four years ago over the killing of his cousin and was later sentenced to death under qisas (retribution-in-kind) by the Iranian judiciary. The motive for the fatal dispute was reported to be financial disagreements between the two men, who both worked in the ceramics trade.
His execution has not been announced by state media or news agencies affiliated with the judiciary.
