Hengaw – Wednesday, June 17, 2026

At least six Kurdish men have been arrested in recent days in Oshnavieh (Shno), Bukan, Piranshahr, and Ilam as Iranian security forces continue their crackdown across the region.

According to information recorded by the Statistics and Documentation Center of Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, intelligence forces carried out coordinated raids on several homes in villages near Oshnavieh on Monday, June 15, 2026, arresting three men, including two brothers. The detainees were identified as Farhad Ebrahimzadeh from the village of Kanirash, and brothers Qader Bariki and Jafar Bariki from the village of Qalatian.

Three days after their arrests, the three men have been denied access to legal counsel, family visits, and telephone contact. Security agencies have also refused to disclose their whereabouts.

In a separate case, Hawram Mehrnavaei, a 24-year-old Kurdish political prisoner from Bukan, was arrested after security forces raided his family home on Saturday, June 13, and detained him without presenting a warrant. He was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location.

Hawram Mehrnavaei had been on temporary leave from prison in recent months due to wartime conditions. Five days after his re-arrest, no information has been provided regarding the reasons for his detention or his current status, raising concerns about his safety and well-being. He was previously arrested during the Women, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement and was later sentenced to prison.

Meanwhile, Amirhossein Rostamimehr, a 20-year-old resident of Ilam, was arrested by government forces on Friday, June 12, and transferred to an undisclosed location. Despite repeated daily inquiries by his family to judicial and government institutions in Ilam, authorities have yet to provide any clear information regarding his whereabouts, the charges against him, or the agency responsible for his arrest.

In another case, security forces in Piranshahr recently arrested 19-year-old Awat Bayzidi without presenting a warrant. He was transferred to an undisclosed location, and his fate remains unknown.
