Two prisoners executed in Rasht and Kerman prisons

Iranian authorities have executed two prisoners, identified as Siavash Afrashteh and Abuzar Negarestani, in separate executions carried out in Rasht and Kerman prisons. The two men had previously been sentenced to death on drug-related and murder charges.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Siavash Afrashteh, 27, was executed in Lakan Prison in Rasht, while Abuzar Negarestani was executed in Kerman Central Prison.
Sources told Hengaw that Afrashteh, a resident of Rasht, had been arrested approximately three years ago on charges related to drug offenses and was subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Rasht.
In a separate case, Abuzar Negarestani, a resident of Kerman, was executed in Kerman Central Prison after being convicted of “premeditated murder” and sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind).
Neither execution has been announced by Iranian state media or official judiciary-affiliated sources.
