Filmmaker Samira Norouz Nasseri arrested by security forces in Tehran

Iranian security forces have arrested Samira Norouz Nasseri, a filmmaker and director based in Tehran.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, security agents raided Norouz Nasseri’s home in the early hours of Monday, June 1, 2026, and arrested her without presenting a warrant. She was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location.

Informed sources told Hengaw that security agents thoroughly searched the filmmaker’s apartment during the raid and seized several personal and professional belongings, including her laptop, mobile phone, and other electronic devices.

Her current whereabouts, legal status, and any charges against her remain unknown.
