Documentary filmmaker Mojgan Ilanlou arrested along with husband and child in Tehran

Mojgan Ilanlou, a Turkish documentary filmmaker, was arrested in Tehran along with her husband, Mohammad Pirhadi, a film producer, and their child Leila Pirhadi by Iranian government forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, plainclothes security forces raided Ilanlou’s home in the early hours of Monday, March 15, 2026, without presenting a court warrant and arrested her along with her husband and their child.

Informed sources report that the arrests were accompanied by physical violence. During the arrest, a physical confrontation occurred between Ilanlou and the security forces, who responded by using force.
