Kurdish teenager Soran Yari arrested with broken leg following Intelligence Ministry raid in Javanrud

Soran Yari, a 19-year-old Kurdish man from Javanrud (Jwanro), has been arrested by Intelligence Ministry forces after sustaining a broken leg in a fall from the roof of his family home during a raid. He was taken to an undisclosed location despite his injury.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Intelligence Ministry forces raided Yari’s family home in Javanrud at approximately 5 a.m. on September 6, 2026, to arrest him.

Sources familiar with the case said Yari, startled by the sudden raid, attempted to escape by jumping from the roof. He sustained a broken leg in the fall. Despite his injury and apparent need for immediate medical attention, security forces took him into custody and transferred him to an undisclosed location.

No information is available regarding Yari’s place of detention, physical condition or whether he had received medical treatment. He has also been denied access to a lawyer and contact with his family, raising concerns about his health and well-being.
