Kurdish man Masoud Chamani sentenced to two years and seven months in prison

Masoud Chamani, a 35-year-old Kurdish man from Ebrahimabad village in Bukan County, has been sentenced by the Iranian judiciary to two years and seven months of discretionary imprisonment.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Chamani was recently sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Bukan to a total of two years and seven months in prison on charges of “propaganda against the state” and “membership in opposition groups or organizations.”
Chamani was arrested on Thursday, February 12, 2026, after Iranian government forces violently raided his home without presenting a warrant. Following the completion of interrogations, he was released temporarily on bail pending the conclusion of judicial proceedings.
