IRGC arrests Arab activist Mehdi Khaledi in Shushtar

IRGC Intelligence forces arrested Mehdi Khaledi, an Arab cultural activist and videographer based in Shushtar, and transferred him to an undisclosed location.

According to reports received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Khaledi, a resident of Shushtar in Khuzestan Province, was arrested on the evening of Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Iranian authorities have not disclosed the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, or his current place of detention.

His arrest comes amid a renewed wave of security pressure and arrests targeting Arab civil and cultural activists in Khuzestan Province.
