A citizen from Maku identified as Adel Ghorbani, 21, son of Ali Zohr, was killed in a mine explosion on Sunday, April 24, 2022, in Sanandaj, Iran. 

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Adel Ghorbani was killed due to a landmine explosion in Barracks 28 infantry of the army of Kurdistan, a subdivision of Iran Army Ground Forces.

It is worth mentioning that Adel Ghorbani was serving his mandatory military service in jahadi part of the army. 

At the time of writing, Iran government's media has not published the news about the death of this soldier, and Hengaw is the first source to publish it.

According to the statistics recorded by Statistics and Dcumentation Center of Hengaw Human Rights Organization, during last year, 2021, at least 50 Kurdish citizens were killed on the borders of Kurdistan due to explosion of landmines left from the eight-year Iran-Iraq war and also landmines that were newly planted by IRGC.

This statistic has increased by 32% (more 12 cases) compared to last year.
