A Kurdish prisoner sentenced to 30 years imprisonment

Hengaw: Six months after being detained by the Iranian Intelligence Setvice, A Kurdish prisoner, from Salmas in Urmia Province was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment.   According to Hengaw, Behzad Mahmoodnezhad, son of Osman, from Gicha, a village of Salmas was imposed five years imprisonment and 25 years suspended prison sentence.   He was sentenced on charge of “membership in a Kurdish opposition party” by the first branch of the Urmia Revolutionary Court on Sunday.   Moreover, the court sentenced him to transfer to Kashmar Prison in Khorasan Razawi Province.   One of his relatives along with confirming the news, told Hengaw News Agency that Behzad was sentenced to exile to Kashmar Prison while he is unable to move his right hand because he had been shot by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps at the time of his arresting.   Behzad Mahmoodnezhad was arrested in Soma Bradost, a region of Urmia Province six months ago while another citizen Arkan Saidi had been shot dead at the same time.
