Sakineh Parvaneh goes on hunger strike in Evin prison in Tehran

Hengaw: Sakineh Parvaneh, a Kurdish political prisoner, started her hunger strike in Evin prison in Tehran.

According to the report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Sakineh Parvaneh, a Kurdish political prisoner from Khorasan, started a hunger strike on September 5, 2020, in sympathy with "Ebro Timtik"', a Kurdish lawyer from Kurdistan of Turkey who had started a hunger strike on January 2, 2020, and died on August 27 after 238 days.An informed source from Evin confirmed this and told Hengaw that Sakineh Parvaneh is in the fifth day of the hunger strike.

Sakineh Parvaneh, aged 30, got arrested by the IRGC on Friday, February 7, 2020, as she had come back from Krdistan Regions of Iraq. She was transferred to Ettelaat(Iranian intelligence service) ministry detention center called ward 209 in Evin prison in Tehran.

On Sunday, May 17, 2020, the branch 28 of revolution court convicted her to 5 years imrisonment and banned her of being a member of any political groups for two years.

This political prisoner was kept in Qarchak ( a town located in the Varamin neighborhood of Tehran) prison and was transferred to Evin after starting the hunger strike.
