Shahab Nadali, a political prisoner from Hamedan, has been sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He has been in detention for the past eight months and four days.
According to reports received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, Shahab Nadali, a political prisoner from Hamedan, was convicted by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran, led by Chief Judge Iman Afshari. He faced charges of "insurrection" through what was labeled as "membership in opposition groups" and has been sentenced to execution.
Informed Sources close to the case indicate that Shahab Nadali and his attorney have filed a motion to appeal the verdict of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, which was submitted to the Supreme Court and has not been reviewed as of yet.
Despite the court documents of the Tehran Revolutionary Court accusing Shahab Nadaali of association with an opposition group to the Islamic Republic of Iran and collaboration in armed insurrection, he has never been proven to have used weapons.
This political prisoner has engaged in two hunger strikes so far, first protesting against prolonged uncertainty in September 2023 and, more recently, objecting to the attribution of the "insurrection" charges.
Shahab Nadali, a 40-year-old, day laborer from Hamedan and father of a 12-year-old daughter, has been deprived of his basic rights during his detention.
Shahab Nadali was arrested by the forces of the intelligence services in Hamedan on June 8, 2023, and subsequently transferred to Evin Prison in Tehran, where he continues to be held.
