Execution of Danyal Diwani Azar, another defendant in the murder case of Sadegh Barmaki

 Hengaw: The death sentence of the second defendant in the murder case of 19-year-old Sadegh Barmaki from Mahabad was held in the Miandoab prison. 

 According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, at around  5:00 AM on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, the death sentence of Danyal Divani Azar, another defendant in the murder case of Sadegh Barmaki, was carried out in Miandoab Prison.

 An informed source told Hengaw’s reporter that Diwani Azar's family had their last visit with their son on Monday, and that the death sentence was carried out today because the victim's family refused to consent.

 On Monday morning, the death sentence of Kamal Asghari, another defendant in this case, was carried out in Mahabad Prison.

 Danyal Zeinal-Abedini, another defendant in this case, was transferred to Miandoab Prison during the April riots in Mahabad Prison, where he was tortured to death by Iranian security forces.

 Danyal Diwani-Azar, along with two other friends named Kamal Asghari and Danyal Zein Al-Abedini, brutally killed 19-year-old Sadegh Barmaki  set his body on fire , and filmed it on September 22, 2017. 
 The three citizens were later sentenced to death by Mahabad criminal court, and their death sentences were upheld by 37th Branch the Supreme Court.  The fourth defendant in this case was also sentenced to 10 years in prison.
