According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Changiz Ghadamkheiri, a Kurdish political prisoner from Kamiaran who was sentenced to 40 years in prison and held for 11 years in Sanandaj and Masjed Soleiman prisons without the right to leave, is currently out of Iran and resides in one of Iran's neighboring countries.
Hengaw has been informed that about two weeks ago, Changiz Qadamkheiri was sent on medical leave with a heavy bail of one billion Tomans, and he left his hometown in the past few days.
Changiz Qadamkheiri, 33, was arrested by security forces on June 9, 2011 and was eventually sentenced by the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, headed by Judge Babaei, to 40 years in prison after several counts of "membership in the Kurdistan Workers' Party".
This political prisoner was exiled to Masjed Soleiman Prison in Khuzestan Province after two years in Sanandaj Central Prison.
This citizen from Kamiaran was injured in the kidney during his arrest and lost one of his kidneys in prison. For the past 11 years, this political prisoner has been deprived of any right to be sent on leave, or even on medical leave or treatment in out-of-prison medical centers.
During his sentence, Changiz Qadamkheiri went on a hunger strike several times to protest on his denial of medical leave.
