Hengaw: Women's ward (located in the Correctional Center) Prison officials have included only one meal in the prisoners' diet during Ramadan, which has caused them serious physical and psychological problems.
According to Hengaw, after the arrival of Ramadan, the officials of the Sanandaj Women's Ward made prisoners to face serious problems in this prison by eliminating breakfast and lunch meals.
According to an informed source, only a small number of female prisoners are fasting. Despite this, most non-fasting prisoners are deliberately and compulsorily starved by prison officials, and only one meal is served during 24 hours a day for iftar.
It is worth noting that the right to food, especially for those held in prison, is considered one of the most fundamental rights, the deprivation of which can seriously threaten a person's right to life.
Hengaw Human Rights Organization, condemning the deliberate starvation of prisoners, considers this issue as a clear example of torture and demands that the prison authorities and the Sanandaj prosecutor be held accountable for the health of prisoners.
