Hengaw:A prisoner from Kermanshah was sentenced to cutting off the hand by the Iranian judiciary for stealing.

According to the Kurdistan Human Rights Organization, Kasra Karami, 38, son of Yaddollah, was sentenced to hand amputation on charges of stealing by the Criminal Tribunal of Urmia.

Kasra Karimi was arrested on October 13, 2015 by the intelligence force of Urmia on charges of stealing and has been detained in the central prison of the Urmia.

The verdict of hand amputation for some of the defendants for stealing in Iran be issued and enforced in accordance with Article 278 of the Islamic Penal Code (formerly Article 198).

According to Article 278 of the Islamic Penal Code the "steal limit" in the first time is "the amputation of the four fingers of the right hand of the thief, so that the palm and thumb of the hand be remained”

The verdict of the hand amputation by the Iranian government has been condemned by international human rights organizations as an inhuman punishment.
