A 10-year-old boy from Gilan-e Gharb city identified as Amir Reza Parhudeh, who was forced to work in a sweet bakery shop due to the extreme poverty of his family, died while working due to getting stuck in the elevator.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Human rights Organization, Amir Reza Parhudeh got stuck inside the elevator and died on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, when he went to the workshop upper floor to bring sweets to the shop.
According to an informed source, the family of this child had sent their child to work in the shop due to poverty.
Last week, a child laborer from Bukan identified as Mardin Salamatian, who was working in an Automobile repair shop, was burned and died too.
Despite the international obligations of the Iranian government toward the Convention on the Rights of the Child as well as the Economic, Social and Cultural Covenant of the United Nations, the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has not taken any positive measures to guarantee the welfare and minimum rights of children, such as the right to food, education, and health standards.
