Two Kurdish brothers from Sanandaj kidnapped by Iranian government forces

In the latest case of abduction of Kurdish citizens in Sanandaj, two brothers, Zanko Zahiri and Zubair Zahiri were kidnapped by Iranian government forces in one of the streets of this city.

According to the report received by the Hengaw organization for human rights, on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, Zubair Zahiri, 30 years old and from Sanandaj, was kidnapped by Iranian government forces.

Also, 24 hours before that, on Monday, December 5, 2022, 28-year-old Zanko Zahiri was kidnapped in a similar incident on one of the streets of this city.

According to Hengaw’s sources, until this moment there has been no information about the health status and whereabouts of these two citizens, and the follow-up of their families has been fruitless in this regard.

Based on the latest statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, from Saturday, September 17, 2022, to Sunday, December 11, 2022, at least nine Kurdish citizens have been killed by Iranian government forces under torture, which raises concern about the health of the arrested and kidnapped citizens.
