Femicide - Niloufar Mojaver left brain dead after torture, rape, and physical violence

Niloufar Mojaver, a 27-year-old woman from Piranshahr, has been declared brain dead after being subjected to severe physical violence, torture, and rape by a man. Although her family has filed a complaint against the man, he has not been arrested and, based on reports, is on the run.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mojaver met Seyed Ezzatoddin Seyed Taheri, 41, while working a seasonal job. After about a month of telephone contact, he persuaded her to leave her family home at night with a promise of marriage and took her to a remote location. He deceived Mojaver’s family by telling them he would formalize their marriage in the coming days, while keeping her out of contact with them and subjecting her to severe physical violence and abuse.
About 12 days after taking Mojaver away, as a result of the severity of her injuries, Seyed Taheri brought her on August 31, 2026, to a medical facility in Andizeh village, near Piranshahr. There, he claimed they were legally married and that she had been injured in a traffic accident. After Mojaver was transferred to a hospital, he left on the pretext of obtaining documents and fled.
Hospital officials subsequently contacted Mojaver’s family and informed them of her hospitalization and injuries. Her family said her body bore extensive signs of beating and burns. Doctors told them that a severe blow to the head had caused her brain death.
Videos obtained and retained by Hengaw show extensive signs of beating on Mojaver’s body.
After doctors confirmed that Mojaver was brain dead and had no prospect of survival, her family decided to donate her organs to patients in need.
Information received by Hengaw indicates that Mojaver’s organs are scheduled to be donated to patients in need at a hospital in Urmia on Friday, September 4, 2026.
Mojaver’s family has filed a complaint against Seyed Taheri for subjecting their daughter to violence. However, he has not been arrested and remains at large.
