By exerting unprecedented pressure on the business owners in Janavroud, especially the marketers in the Border Market in this city, the Iranian government institutions have sealed the shops and, in addition, fined them 5 million tomans (140 USD) and forced them to sign a written commitment.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Saturday, December 10, 2022, the Iranian government forces sealed the shops and stores in the Javanroud Border Market, forcing the shop owners to pay a fine of 5 million tomans and sign a written commitment.
According to Hengaw’s sources in Javanroud, the businessmen of this city refused to pay the imposed fine and signed written commitment letters while protesting.
It is said that in addition to the border market of Javanroud, which is the main supplier of the citizens' livelihood, the complexes and shops of the city's main market have also been targeted by pressures from the Iranian government.
This pressure against the business owners of Javanroud happened after they participated in the recent strikes, including between December 5 and December 7, 2022.
