Ali Hossein Shamaili and Kiyomars Waezi, two Kurdish teachers from the Department of Education in the Sanqro-Keliaie district of Kermanshah province, were sentenced to a total of 11 years and 10 months in prison on charges of "propaganda against the regime and inciting and seducing people."

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organizations for Human Rights, these verdicts were issued on Saturday, November 12, 2022, by the second branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Kermanshah, headed by Judge Masoud Nouri.

According to the verdict, Kiyomars Waezi has been sentenced to 6 years in prison on the charges of "propaganda against the system and inciting and seducing the people," and Ali Hassan Shammaili has been sentenced to 5 years and 10 months in prison for the same charges.

Kiyomars Waezi is a media activist and manager of the "Emroz Gharb" Telegram channel, who has been summoned, interrogated, and threatened several times by the Iranian Intelligence Department in Saqqez.

On Sunday, October 9, 2022, Iranian security forces stormed the homes of Ali Hossein Shamaili and Kiyomars Waezi and arrested them without presenting any judicial documents.

It should be mentioned that these two citizens were deprived of the right to access a lawyer during their detention in Dizel Abad Prison, Kermanshah.
