Omid Shahmohammadi, Parviz Ahsani, Kaveh Mohammadzadeh, and Hiwa Qoreishi, members of the Diwandarreh branch of the Kurdistan Teachers' Union, were sentenced to prison by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj on the charge of "acting against national security."

According to a report received by the Hengaw organization for human rights, the first branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj, headed by Hossein Saeedi, sentenced each of the teachers Parviz Ahsani, Kaveh Mohammadzadeh, and Hiva Qoreishi to 5 years of suspended imprisonment and also Omid Shahmohammadi to 5 years imprisonment.

The sentence was issued by Judge Hossein Saeedi on the charge of "action against national security" through membership in the PJAK party.

These four teachers, along with another teacher from Diwandarreh named Othman Rezaei, were arrested by Iranian Intelligence Department forces in Diwandarreh on June 15, 2022.

Osman Rezaei was temporarily released from prison on Saturday, June 18, 2022, with a bail of 250 million toman, and Omid Shahmohammadi, Parviz Ahsani, Kaveh Mohammadzadeh, and Hiwa Qoreishi, after 76 days of detention in the Sanandaj Intelligence Department, were released from the detention center on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, with a bail of 1.5 billion toman.

Hengaw had previously reported that the forces of the intelligence department stormed the house of these five people, and while arresting and beating them, they searched the houses and also physically assaulted the wives of two of them.
