Ashkan Ahmadi, Saman Moradivandan, Mojtaba Mohammad Ali, Saman Ghasemi, Milad Ansari, Puya Mahmoudnejad, Ramin Salmani, and Sajad Jamali, eight arrested citizens from Abdanan, as well as Akbar Darvishi and Amir Akrami, two citizens from Dehloran, are all on hunger strike in the Ilam central prison.

These 10 arrested citizens have reportedly been on a hunger strike since Saturday, January 7, 2023, in protest against the uncertainty, unfavorable incarceration circumstances, threats, and pressure from governmental institutions, according to a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.

These individuals are on hunger strike at a time when many of them remain in prison after three months of temporary detention. Their release has been denied by the General and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office and the Ilam Intelligence Department. Also, they have been deprived of their basic rights, including access to a lawyer and face-to-face meetings.
