Faezeh Modares Gorji, a Kurdish teacher, was kidnapped by Iranian government forces after attending a mourning ceremony for two Kurdish citizens from Sanandji who were killed in the Ukrainian plane crash by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in 2020.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Faezeh Modares Gorji was kidnapped by Iranian government forces on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
Zhina (Jina) Modares Gorji, a women's rights activist and daughter of Faezeh Modares Gorji, tweeted about her mother's abduction and wrote: "My mother was arrested after going to the police regarding the seizure of the car's license plate on the anniversary of the Ukrainian plane crash and the seizure of her car."
She continued: "The reason for my mother's arrest is that she went to Behesht Mohammadi in Sanandaj to visit the graves of Aida Farzaneh and Arvin Moratab on the anniversary of their deaths."
Meanwhile, Zhina Modares Gorji was arrested by the security forces on the evening of Wednesday, September 21, 2022, and on Sunday, October 30, 2022, she was released from the Sanandaj Correctional Center on a 100 million tomans (about 2,500 USD) bail until the end of the proceedings.
