The death sentence of a prisoner from Salamas named Nijomi Moradi, who was previously sentenced to death for premeditated murder, was carried out in Urmia Central Prison.
According to the report received by the Hengaw organization for human rights, at dawn on Thursday, November 16, 2023, the death sentence of a Kurdish citizen from Selmas named Nijomi Moradi was carried out in Urmia Central Prison.
According to an informed source, 43-year-old Nijomi Moradi, a native of "Harkian" village in Salmas, was arrested two years ago on charges of premeditated murder and was sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
The news of the execution of this Kurdish prisoner has not been announced in the Iranian government or judiciary media.
Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in January 2023, at least 20 Kurdish prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons.
