The pressure on Kurdish Muslim clerics continues; two more clerics were arrested in Piranshahr

Imam Jafar Parvini, the teacher of the Salahuddin Ayubi School of Religious Sciences in Piranshahr, was arrested after being summoned to the intelligence department in this city. Also, Imam Ali Rahimi, another teacher from Piranshahr, was summoned and interrogated.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on February 20, 2023, Imam Jafar Parvini and Imam Ali Rahimi, both from Piranshahr, were summoned to the intelligence department of this city.

After the referral of these two Kurdish Muslim clerics, Ali Rahimi, the imam of Friday prayers and the congregation of the "Koheh Khaneh" mosque in Piranshahr, was released after interrogation, and Jafar Parvini, one of the teachers at the Salahuddin Ayoubi School of Religious Sciences in Piranshahr, was arrested and transferred to an unknown place.

There is no detailed information about the fate of Imam Jafar Parvini after his arrest by the Piranshahr Intelligence Department or his whereabouts.

It is said that these two teachers have previously condemned the violent suppression of the citizen's right to protest by government institutions, and the reason for summoning them is related to this matter.
