The death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner from Naghadeh, named Jalal Sardarifar, who was previously sentenced to death for charges related to drug trafficking, was carried out in Urmia Central Prison.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Thursday, March 9, 2023, a Kurdish citizen from Naghadeh named Jalal Sardarifar was carried out of the central prison in Urmia.

This prisoner was sentenced to death on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, along with four other prisoners who were all accused of "trafficking drugs" and were transferred to solitary confinement to carry out their sentences.

The identities of the other four prisoners have not been confirmed so far, and their fate is also unknown.

Three years ago, Jalal Sardarifar was arrested by Iranian government forces on charges of trafficking drugs and then sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
 
The news of the execution of this prisoner has not been announced in the Iranian state media, especially in the media affiliated with the Iranian judiciary.

Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of Hengaw, during the first two months of 2023, at least 33 Kurdish prisoners have been executed in Iranian prisons.
