Four Kurdish citizens from Oshnaviyeh, named Suleiman (Othman) Araszadeh, Hejar Mahmoudian, Farhan Hassanzadeh, and Sanan Qaderzadeh (Qalan), who were previously arrested by the Iranian government forces, were sentenced to a total of 10 years and 6 months in prison and 50 lashes by the Iranian judiciary.
According to the report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Suleiman Araszadeh, Hejar Mahmoudian, Farhan Hassanzadeh, and Sanan Qaderzadeh, citizens of Oshnaviyeh and the village of Gundavila in this city, were recently arrested and sentenced to prison by Branch 101 of the General and Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Oshnaviyeh, headed by Judge Rezaei.
These citizens were sentenced to prison on the charges of "collusion to commit a crime against internal and external security, cooperation with Kurdish parties against the regime, and propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran."
According to the verdicts, Hejar Mahmoudian was sentenced to 4 years' imprisonment, 50 lashes, and a 19 million and two hundred thousand toman (380 USE) fine; Suleiman Arszadeh was sentenced to 2 years' imprisonment; Sanan Qaderzadeh was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months' imprisonment; and Farhan Hassanzadeh was sentenced to 2 years' imprisonment.
These four citizens were simultaneously arrested on the morning of Tuesday, January 17, 2023, by the forces of Iranian intelligence and taken to Urmia.
Osman Araszadeh, Hejar Mahmoudian, Farhan Hassanzadeh, and Sanan Qaderzadeh were transferred to Oshnaviyeh Prison after 18 days of interrogation and all kinds of mental and psychological torture, and after 8 days they were temporarily released from prison on bail until the end of the proceedings.
