At least one Kurdish prisoner executed in the Urmia prison

The death sentence of at least one Kurdish prisoner named Faramarz Shakhsi, from Sardasht, was carried out in Urmia prison. There is no information about the fate of the other four prisoners.
 
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Friday, May 5, 2023, a 29-year-old Kurdish prisoner from Sardasht was executed in Urmia prison.

Faramarez, a married man and father of two children, was arrested three years ago on drug-related charges and transferred to Urmia prison.
 
Also, yesterday, Thursday, May 4, 2023, four Azerbaijani Turkish prisoners, whose identities of two have been confirmed as Behzad Pourhanifi and Mehdi Timuri, were transferred from the general ward of Urmia prison to solitary confinement, and their fates are still unknown.
 

These four prisoners were previously arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to prison by the Iranian Judiciary.
