Three female political prisoners sentenced to long prison terms

Shiva Esmaili, Sudabeh Fakharzadeh, and Zeynab Hamrang Seyedbaglou, three female political prisoners imprisoned in Evin prison, were sentenced to 5 to 10 years in prison by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran. 
 

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, May 14, 2023, branch 26 of the Iranian Islamic  Revolutionary Court in Tehran, headed by Judge Iman Afshari, sentenced Zeynab Hamrang Seyed Baghlou to 5 years in prison on the charge of "association and collusion", and Shiva Esmaili to 10 years in prison for charges such as "assembly and collusion", and He also sentenced Sudabeh Fakharzadeh to 5 years in prison for the charge of "propaganda against the regime"
 

According to Iran Human Rights Center, 54-year-old Zeynab Hamrang, 58-year-old Shiva Esmaili, and 65-year-old Sudabah Fakharzadeh are currently detained in the women's ward of Evin prison.
 

Zeynab Hamrang Seyed Belgu, a retired teacher from Moghan City, was previously sentenced to prison by the Iranian Judiciary and was released from the women's ward of Evin prison in October 2022.
 

Shiva Ismaili the mother of Mehdi Vafaei, is a political prisoner who is currently being held in Evin prison.
 

It should be mentioned that Shiva Esmaili, Sudabeh Fakharzadeh, and Zeynab Hamrang were arrested by Iranian government forces in Tehran on March 11, 2023, and after one month they were transferred from Ward 209 of Evin Prison to the women's ward of this prison.
