Atena Farghdani, a cartoonist who has been sentenced to prison before, went to the Evin courthouse after being summoned and was arrested again.
 

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, Atena Farghdani, a cartoonist and children's rights activist living in Tehran, was arrested after being summoned to the investigation branch of the 33rd District Prosecutor's Office of this city.
 

Mohammad Moghimi, a lawyer, published a tweet about the health condition of his client, Atena Farghdani, and stated that he was unaware of the reasons for her arrest.
 

This cartoonist, who was previously banned from continuing her master's degree due to her activities, was transferred to Tehran's Evin prison after going to the prosecutor's office and being arrested.
 

Athena Farghdani was also arrested in September 2014 and sentenced to 12 years and 9 months in prison on the charge of "insulting the supreme leader". This sentence was finally reduced to 18 months by the appeal court.
