Femicide – 15-year-old Sheyda Kardgar murdered by rejected suitor in Babol

A 15-year-old girl, Sheyda Kardgar, was murdered by her suitor in Babol, Mazandaran Province, after she rejected his marriage proposal. The perpetrator used a bladed weapon to carry out the killing.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Monday, August 11, 2025, Kardgar, a resident of Daroonkelay-e Sharqi village in Babol County, was stabbed multiple times by the man in front of her grandmother’s home, leading to her death at the scene.

Sources familiar with the incident stated that the man had previously sought to marry Kardgar, but her family had refused his proposal. Following this rejection, he attacked and fatally stabbed her.
