Recent armed clashes near the Kousalan Mountains in the city of Sarvabad have prompted the dispatch of a squadron of Revolutionary Guards' rescue helicopters from Sanandaj to Sarvabad.
The reports, received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, provides insights into the developments surrounding the armed clash and the subsequent deployment of rescue resources from Sanandaj to Sarvabad on Saturday June 17th, 2023.
According to sources from Hengaw, the dispatch of the rescue helicopters follows an armed clash that took place at 4 a.m. in the "Hasheh Doul" area, situated in the foothills of the Kousalan Mountains near Sarvabad between the forces of the Revolutionary Guards of Iran and the Guerrillas of the Kurdistan Free Life Party(PJAK), although no official announcements have been made by either party or their affiliated media outlets regarding the incident.
Consequently, specific information about the casualties resulting from the clash remains undisclosed.
In a separate armed clash occurred on Friday evening, June 16th, approximately 7 kilometers away from Marivan city, a member of the Revolutionary Guards named Rezgar Tabireh, a resident of Marivan, killed in the clash. Additionally, two other Revolutionary Guards members sustained injuries during the encounter.
Hengaw has received reports indicating heightened military helicopter activity since the morning, with several helicopters observed traveling between Sanandaj, Marivan, and Sarvabad.
