The death sentence of Aydin Emami, a Turkish prisoner of Azerbaijan imprisoned in Zanjan prison who was previously sentenced to death on charges of intentional murder, has been executed.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Monday, July 17, 2023, the death sentence of a prisoner named Aydin Emami was executed in Safarabad prison in Zanjan.
This prisoner was previously arrested on charges of intentional homicide and later sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Until the time of writing this news, the news of Aydin Emami's execution had not been announced in the government media or the media affiliated with the judiciary.
Based on the statistics registered in the statistics and documents centre of Hengaw, in the last 7 months, at least 22 Azerbaijani Turkish prisoners have been executed in Iranian prisons.
