The death sentences of three prisoners imprisoned in Qezelhesar prison of Karaj, named Behrouz Rahmani Rad, from Varamin, Kiyomars Rezaei, and Rahman Ebrahimi, both from Kohdasht, have been carried out. These prisoners were previously sentenced to death for drug-related charges.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, the death sentences of two prisoners from Kohdasht, Lorestan province, named Kiyomars Rezaei and Rahman Ebrahimi and Behrouz Rahmani Rad, from Varamin, were carried out in Qezelhesar prison of Karaj.
Hengaw previously wrote a report quoting informed sources that Kyomars Rezaei and Rahman Ebrahimi were arrested in 2014 in a joint case with charges related to drugs and were later sentenced to death by the Iranian Judiciary.
In connection with this case, three other prisoners were also arrested and sentenced to death, and the death sentence of one of them, Hassan Hawasi, was carried out about a month ago.
Farzad Ebrahimi, Rahman Ebrahimi's brother, and a person with the first name "Baqer" are the other prisoners in this case who are still in prison.
Behrouz Rahmani Rad was transferred to solitary confinement nearly a month ago to execute the sentence, and finally, with the suspension of the sentence, he was sent back to Qezelhesar prison.
So far, the execution of Kiyomars Rezaei, Rahman Ebrahimi, and Behrouz Rahmani Rad has not been announced in the Iranian State media, especially the media close to the judiciary.
