The Iranian forces stationed in Ilam, simultaneously with Mohawk Qeysari’s death anniversary, attacked the citizens present at the Behesht Reza cemetery located in Haniwan town and arrested his brother, Mohammad Hossein Qeysari. These forces also arrested a father and daughter named Mahmoud Sadeghi and Hoda Sadeghi, as well as a young man named Ali Shirkhani, and beat up several people.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Thursday, September 21, 2023, Mohammad Hossein Qeysari, a member of the plaintiffs' families, was arrested by Iranian government forces during his brother’s death anniversary.
At the same time, two members of the same family (father and daughter) named Mahmoud Sadeghi and Hoda Sadeghi and a 20-year-old youth named Ali Shirkhani, who were present at this event, were arrested by Iranian government forces and transferred to undisclosed locations.
According to Hengaw’s sources in Ilam, several participants were severely beaten and taken to medical centers in Ilam city. The conditions of some of the injured citizens are reported to be very critical.
Mohsen Qeysari, a 32-year-old young Kurdish man, was killed by direct fire from Iranian special forces during the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement in Ilam City.
