The death sentences of two Baloch prisoners named Mustafa Khoshshane (Rigi) and Saeid Brahouie Makaki, both of whom were previously sentenced to death for drug-related crimes, were executed in the central prison of Mashhad.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Monday, September 25, 2023, the death sentence of Mustafa Khoshshane, 30, from Mashhad and a father of one child, was executed in the central prison of this city.
This prisoner was arrested in Mashhad in 2019 on charges of drug-related crimes and was later sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Before that, the death sentence of Saeid Brahouie Makaki, a 27-year-old Baloch prisoner from Zahedan and the father of two children, was executed in Mashhad Central Prison.
This prisoner was arrested in Mashhad in 2021 on charges of drug-related crimes and was later sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
As of the time of this reporting, the news of the execution of these two prisoners has not been announced in the government media, especially the media affiliated with the judiciary.
Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, since the beginning of 2023 (less than 9 months), at least 114 Baloch prisoners have been executed in Iranian prisons.
