Visually impaired victim of “women, life, freedom” movement sentenced to imprisonment

Kowsar Eftakhari, a resident artist in Tehran and one of the visually impaired victims of the “women, life, freedom” Movement, was recently sentenced to five months of imprisonment by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to a report received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, Kowsar Eftakhari was convicted by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided by chief Judge Iman Afshari, with the charge of "propaganda activities against the Islamic Republic of Iran." She has been sentenced to five months of imprisonment.
Kowsar Eftakhari, in her personal Instagram account regarding the verdict revealed, that she was initially sentenced to four years and three months in prison, but with a reduction, it was reduced to five months. She added that this sentence would be enforced in the coming days.
This injured protester is a stage actress and was active in theatrical performance prior to being wounded by the government forces during the widespread protests in Tehran.
Kowsar Eftakhari lost one of her eyes on October 12, 2022, when she was shot in the face by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran with a pellet gun during a street rally in Tehran.
