The death sentence of Hossein Bahremand, a Kurdish inmate hailing from Rabat in Sardasht, sentenced to death for drug-related offenses, was carried out in Hamedan Central Prison.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hossein Bahremand, a Kurdish prisoner from Rabat, was executed at dawn on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, in Hamedan Central Prison.
An informed source revealed that this inmate had been apprehended three years ago on drug-related charges, ultimately facing the death penalty as decreed by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
It is noteworthy that as of the time of this report, there has been no official announcement of this prisoner's execution in government-sanctioned media outlets, particularly those aligned with the judiciary.
Based on data compiled by the Statistics and Documentation Center of Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, from the beginning of this year until Monday, October 9th, 83 Kurdish prisoners have executed. This statistic represents 15.5% of all prisoners executed within Iranian penitentiaries.
