Mohammad Abdullahipour, a Kurdish student from Sanandaj, has been apprehended by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the second time. He was previously detained for a period during the Jin, Jiyan, Azadî movement.
According to a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Saturday, October 21, 2023, 24-year-old Mohammad Abdullahipour, a student majoring in the English language and literature department at Kurdistan University, was taken into custody in Sanandaj.
Mr. Abdullahipour was detained at his family house in Sanandaj City's "Bagh-e Zhale" district at 8:00 a.m. by the intelligence department forces driving a Samand vehicle. He was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location.
As of the time of this report, no information regarding the reasons behind his arrest or the charges against him has been made available.
It is worth mentioning that this student activist was initially arrested by the Intelligence Department forces in Sanandaj on the evening of Sunday, September 18, 2022, during the (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) Women, Life, Freedom movement. After two months of detention, he was temporarily released on bail.
