The death sentences of two prisoners named Yadollah Farokhi, a resident of Kuhdasht in Lorestan, and an Afghan national named Sadeq Tajik were carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organisation for Human Rights, on the morning of Wednesday, November 1st, 2023, the death sentence of Yadollah Farokhi, a prisoner from Kuhdasht, was carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison.
Hengaw had previously reported on Tuesday, October 31, the transfer of Yadollah Farokhi to a solitary confinement cell in Ghezel Hesar Prison for the execution of his death sentence. He had previously been sentenced to death for drug-related offenses.
Simultaneously, the death sentence of Sadeq Tajik, a national of Afghanistan, was also carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison. He had been detained on charges of "premeditated murder" and sentenced to death.
It is noteworthy that, as of the time of this report, there has been no official announcement of the execution of these two prisoners in government-sanctioned media outlets, particularly those aligned with the judiciary.
