In a recent judicial decision in Mashhad a Kurdish attorney, Khosrow Alikordi, residing in Mashhad, has been sentenced by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to one year of imprisonment, two years of exile, and additional penalties.

According to reports obtained by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, Khosrow Alikordi, a judicial attorney in Mashhad, was sentenced by the first branch of the revolutionary court to one year of imprisonment, two years of exile, two years of travel ban, two years of prohibition from practicing law, and a two-year ban from online presence.

Alleging his activities as "propaganda in favor of oppression groups of the Islamic Republic," Khosrow Alikordi stated on his personal page. He added that Nehbandan in South Khorasan province has been designated as the location for his two-year exile.

This judicial attorney was arrested on August 1st, 2023, after being summoned to the 901 Investigation Branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Mashhad. He was transferred to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. he was released on bail 4 days later on August 5th until the end of the legal proceedings.

Khosrow Alikordi had previously been fined 21 million tomans for the charge of "defamation" by the third branch of the criminal court of Mashhad. He has represented numerous political prisoners and the litigants families in his legal career.
