The Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has authenticated the identities of five out of seven prisoners whose death sentences were carried out on Wednesday in Ghezel Hesar prison. The confirmed names include Baqer Mohammadi, Kayomarth Rezaei, Iqbal Fatahi, Ahad Eslami, and Ayoub Karimi, the religious prisoner.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, six other individuals were executed simultaneously with Ayoub Karimi, a Kurdish religious prisoner. Hengaw has confirmed the identities of four of them.
According to the report, the death sentences of Ahad Eslami, a 39-year-old Kurdish citizen from Karaj, and Iqbal Fatahi were executed on charges of homicide on the same day. Concurrently, the death sentences of Baqer Mohammadi and Kayomarth Rezaei were carried out for drug-related crimes.
Two additional prisoners were executed on charges of homicide, and their identities are currently under investigation by Hengaw.
It is important to note that on the same day, Ayoub Karimi, a Kurdish religious prisoner from Mahabad, saw his death sentence executed in Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj after 14 years of imprisonment.
