A Baha'i adherent identified as Shohreh Salekian, a resident of Mashhad, was sentenced to three years and eight months of imprisonment by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, recently, the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad handed down verdicts of 3 years imprisonment under the charge of "participation in opposition parties" and eight months imprisonment under the charge of "propaganda against the regime" to Shohreh Salekian, a baha'i adherent. This collectively amounts to three years and eight months of detention.

According to the law of consolidation of sentences, the severe punishment equal to the three years of penal imprisonment verdict is fully applicable to this individual.

Shohreh Salekian was summoned and formally charged by Branch 903 of the Mashhad Prosecutor's Office on July 29, 2023.
