The death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner named Abdul Shawali, from Sirvan city of Ilam, who was previously sentenced to death for drug-related charges, was carried out in Qezelhesar prison.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Saturday, December 30, 2023, the death sentence of Abdul Shawali, a 39-year-old prisoner from the village of Islamiyeh, in Sirvan County, Ilam Province, was carried out in Qezelhesar prison in Karaj.
According to an informed source, this prisoner, who was the father of a young girl, was arrested 5 years ago on drug-related charges and was later sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
So far, the news of Abdul Shawali's execution has not been announced in the Iranian state media, especially the media affiliated with the judiciary.
