The death sentence of Nizam Dehmordeh, a 48 years old inmate from Zahedan, Baluchistan, previously convicted of drug trafficking , was carried out in Yazd Central Prison.
According to reports received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, on the early morning of Thursday, January 11th, 2024, the execution sentence of Nizam Dehmordeh, a resident of Shahrabad, Zahedan, was implemented in Yazd Central Prison.
As reported by the "Hal Vash" news outlet, Nizam Dehmordeh was arrested three years ago in Yazd city by security forces and later sentenced to death by the revolutionary court of Yazd for drug trafficking.
As of the time of this report, the execution of this inmate has not been officially announced in government controlled media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
According to statistics recorded by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, during the year 2023, at least 183 Baluch inmates have been executed in the prisons of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
