Khas Murad Saeedi, a prisoner from Kohdasht city in Lorestan province, previously sentenced to death, has passed away in Ghezel Hesar prison due to a lack of medical attention.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, Khas Murad Saeedi, 60 years old, hailing from Sartarhan village in the Kohdasht region, died due to a delay in being sent to the hospital and a lack of medical treatment in Ghezel Hesar prison.
According to reliable sources, the prison authorities cited "heart attack" as the cause of death when informing the family.
A relative of the deceased prisoner shared that despite Khas Murad Saeedi's worsening condition and the urgent need for advanced medical care, he was kept in the prison hospital.
It's worth noting that Khas Murad Saeedi had been arrested and sentenced to death two years ago on charges related to drug offenses.
