The death sentence of a prisoner identified as Kamran Kharoush, a resident of Karaj, has been carried out in Shiraz Central Prison. This prisoner had previously been sentenced to death on charges related to drug-related offenses.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Tuesday, January 16, 2024, the death sentence of Kamran Kharoush, a 44 year old inmate and a father of one, was executed in Shiraz Central Prison.
According to informed sources, Kamran Kharoush, originally from Mohammadshahr, Karaj, had been detained in Shiraz for the past two years on charges related to drug offenses and later sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Notably, as of the time of this report, there has been no official announcement of the execution of this prisoner in government-sanctioned media outlets, particularly those aligned with the judiciary.
